Cast-iron rigidity, twin-table flexibility
Fixed bridge CNC machining centers
For customers demanding rigidity and accuracy, the C.R. Onsrud fixed bridge platform delivers. With the bridge positioned across the width of a twin-table configuration, these machines use half the floor space of a typical fixed gantry machine while cutting wood, aluminum, plastics, and composites.

Fixed Bridge C-Series
Some customers require superior rigidity and accuracy, and that’s why we offer the cast-iron Super Duty Series of CNC routers by C.R. Onsrud. If you primarily work with man-made materials, the robust Pro Series machines are more than capable. But if your main focus is cutting solid wood or non-ferrous metal, which tend to produce more vibration, the added dampening of a cast-iron bridge is crucial.
The inherent properties of cast-iron bridge construction absorb and dampen cutting vibrations, minimizing what transfers to the spindle. The overall weight, mass, and rigidity of the machine promote faster feed rates, deeper per-pass cutting, better finishes, longer tool life, and less maintenance over the machine’s lifetime.

C-Series standard features
- 4-pole, reversible, 24,000 RPM high torque spindle
- HSK-63F spindle taper and tool holders, with 1 inch (25mm) collet capacity
- Over 14 inches of Z-axis clearance and 11 inches of Z-axis stroke
- Thermal heat treated, stress relieved, and normalized one-piece steel machine base
- Cast-iron fixed bridge and cast-iron vertical columns for weight, mass, and rigidity
- Standard 12 position, aggregate ready, dynamic automatic rotary tool changer
- Twin tables operate locked together or independently for pendulum processing
- C.R. Onsrud high-flow universal vacuum table system with low vacuum sensing
- Independently controlled vacuum zones for each table
- FANUC, OSAI, and B&R control options
- Full 3D capability with helical interpolation

Fixed Bridge E-Series
The E-Series CNC machining center takes everything from the design of the C-Series to the next level in performance and accuracy. This twin-table CNC machine features beefy rail spacing for greater accuracy and leverage over the part for more demanding applications.
Tables can be run, loaded, and offloaded independently without interrupting the adjacent table’s cutting cycle, or electronically locked together for large parts that span the full envelope. Continuous pendulum processing keeps daily output at maximum, so the machine is always making you money. When Hobby Lobby needed to increase production levels, they selected the E-Series (a 290E18WS6), and it exceeded their goals.
E-Series configuration options
- Available in a variety of spindle and table configurations
- Multiple heads on a fixed center distance for single batch processing
- Any combination of heads on a variable center distance
- Single head processing mode for large part machining across both twin tables
- Head collision avoidance built into the controller logic
- Alternating table mode so any head configuration can share a process
