Thirty-five years of orders, and the latest was the biggest
George Nickell started his business with Jim Scarlett's help some 35 years ago. A few months before giving us this quote, he placed one of the most important orders in the company's history: a new Weinig moulding cell.
That's the arc we work for: a relationship that starts with a first machine and is still earning the next one decades later.
I started my business with the help of Jim Scarlett some 35 years ago and placed one of the most important orders of our history just a few months ago. That's how long we have trusted Scarlett and their superior lines of woodworking machinery. Our new Weinig Moulding cell is performing as advertised and will keep us growing and competitive in the years to come. We will continue to rely on Scarlett for our capital equipment requirements.

One 5-axis router, everything from furniture parts to composite molds
The FABLab at the University of Michigan already ran two C.R. Onsrud 3-axis CNC machines when director Wes McGee worked with our team to configure and plan a 5-axis router.
The machine now handles everything from complex hardwood furniture components to large composite molds cut from tooling board, using all 36 inches of its Z travel.
The team at Scarlett was very helpful in the configuration and planing of our most recent purchase of a CR Onsrud 5 axis router. This machine tool has allowed us to build on the capabilities of our two other Onsrud 3 axis CNC machines. We have used the 5 axis for everything from complex hardwood furniture components, to large composite molds out of tooling board utilizing all 36 inches of the Z travel.

Keith Malmstadt came to wood manufacturing from accounting, not the shop floor. From his first days at Great Lake Woods, he leaned on Jim Scarlett and the team for guidance on moulding and component manufacturing.

I've been working with the folks at Scarlett since my first days at Great Lake Woods. Not being a true woodworker, a CPA by training, I relied heavily on Jim Scarlett and his team for guidance and advice on several aspects of wood moulding and component manufacturing. I have made significant investments with the help of Scarlett and feel I have one of the more progressive factories in the area working in the woodworking industry.
